A huge loss to EDM – Avicii

Whether you love, used to love, or frankly hated his music, no one could deny the talent he possessed, or the happiness he brought to his fans and EDM fans alike. Sadly, Grammy-nominated Tim Bergling (Avicii / Tim Berg) has passed away at the tragically young age of 28.

His representatives stated earlier “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii.”

While the cause of death is yet to be announced, it was known Avicii had struggled with health problems which were said to be caused by his heavy touring lifestyle. Following the removal of his appendix and gall bladder, Avicii officially retired from live tours in 2016, claiming he had ‘too little time left for the life of a real person behind the artist’.

Avicii experienced success at a very young age and can be held accountable to the huge EDM boom of the mid-2000’s with his tracks like ‘Seek Bromance’, ”My Feelings for You’ and the infamous ‘Levels’.

Out of respect to his family, we would like to look past the problems he faced in his career, and remember the talented and iconic musician behind the alias. Speaking from personal experience, Avicii inspired many, and introduced a lot of young fans to the dance music genres.

You shall be dearly missed. Rest in peace.
