Throne Room furniture Reset Safari reminds us all why the label rate him so highly, with yet another masterclass in his versatile range of musical talents. Ambient and cultured techno from the UK based producer who is making ever increasing strides toward the top with no sign of looking back.
‘Voyages’ is classy, warm and atmospheric, with pulsing and echoing stabs, over soft and deep drum and synth layers. The title track of the EP is well suited for the upcoming poolside vibes ready for summer, or the upcoming Easter day parties. ‘We Don’t Worry’ offers a little more oomph with heavier basslines and vocal shouts. ‘Game of Minds’ is exactly as described in the promotional description – “nothing short of a cinematic masterpiece” – with strong brass sections and emotional breakdowns, giving a rare feel similar to that of the timeless Ten Walls – Walking With Elephants (*bold claim we know*), but having played this out in some sets over January and February, the hands-in-the-air crowd reaction justifies the praise for this track. Rounding off the EP is ‘The Train’ which brings the tempo up and has a much more front room kind of feel.
All round this EP has something for every techno preference a pair of ears can have, and the incoming A-list support would no doubt back us up on this.
