Review: Dennis Beutler – Oh Funky

It is always a guaranteed groove when we open up a Laevo track from our inbox, and the guys more than deliver again here with a great selection of floor shaking two-steppers. This time we got our hands on an early copy of Dennis Beutler’s upcoming release ‘Oh Funky’.

The simple but effective bassline is the star of the show here, thick and chunky it is sure to get anyone moving. Quirky looping vocals and strong percussion layers help round the track into a classy Tech House piece. Which leads us onto the remixes, both weapons in their own right, the Mike Morrisey remix introduces a generous helping of energy by upping the tempo of the bassline and adding long rises to the build ups for that hands-in-the-air’ impact in the drops. Brandon Lee turns the track into a rhythmic brainwasher with his clean and simple remix, with enough percussion to make a marching band, the remix is ideal for day parties and early doors set builders.

Our Score: 7.5/10
