Review: Rock & Flow EP

Rising talents from across the Atlantic, Pinto (NYC) and Joaquin Koen drop their ‘Rock & Flow’ EP on Golf Clap’s Country Club Disco, with a remix from Made To Move completing the release. With impressive previous releases on Nervous Records, Simma Black and Rawsome Recordings for both Pinto (NYC) and Made To Move, and with Joaquin Koen’s ‘Name Not Found’ EP on Killer Vibe Records featuring in our Bank Holiday Gems post from last week; expectations were high.

Expectations are certainly met. The lead track ‘Rock & Flow’ has that straight up House feel we expect from Country Club Disco, synth stabs and the bassline knob set to ‘dance’. Made To Move takes things up a notch, introducing a darker sub bassline throughout and some wetness to the drops, leaving a much dirtier taste for those bass enthusiasts out there. ‘Let Me Show You’ rounds up the release with a pacey bass-kick combo, and some more of those trademark stabs. A solid and up-front release from some real up-comers, Pinto (NYC) & Joaquin Koen are certainly a pair to watch out for in the future.
